On February 1st, 2024, the Taiwan Eastbound Alliance - Landing America (TeaLa) joined hands with The Taipei Czech Economic and Cultural Office, the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic (TCCCZ) to hold the 'Seminar on semiconductor investment opportunities in the Czech Republic.' The venue was packed to brim, indicating significant interest among attendees in exploring opportunities in the Czech Republic.
In addition to speeches by the organizers, the seminar featured addresses from Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wu-Chiao Hsieh, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs, Chen Zheng Chyi, Director General of the National Development Council, Connie Chang, General Manager of the ROC Export-Import Bank, Xie Fu Hua, and Director of the European Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eric Huang, among other distinguished guests, all of which participated in witnessing this grand event. Prior to the start of the seminar, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by Chairman of TeaLa, J.W. Kuo; Representative of the Czech National Semiconductor Cluster, Mr. Tomáš SIVIČEK; President of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic, Huang Hong Zhang; and CEO of Taiwanese company Topco Scientific, Charles Li, to jointly explore semiconductor business opportunities in the Czech Republic.
The seminar primarily aimed to share information regarding the economic situation in the Czech Republic, incentives for Taiwanese investors, other financial supports available, how to conduct business in the Czech Republic, land use and property management, the labor market, tax regulations, the scale of the supplier base, and experiences shared by existing Taiwanese investors in the Czech Republic.
Following the event, TeaLa shall organize a delegation to the Czech Republic. Parties interested in advancing into the Czech Republic are welcome to contact the secretariat of TeaLa and follow in the footsteps of TSMC to explore global opportunities!
Twenty-two media outlets attended the signing ceremony, including three newspapers (United Daily News, Commercial Times, Economic Daily News), five television stations (NEXT TV, EBC Eastern Television, PTS Taiwan, New Tang Dynasty Television, Formosa TV), eleven online media outlets (Digitimes, Anue, MoneyDJ, Investor, Bloomberg, Central News Agency, Radio Taiwan International, Crossing Magazine, Epoch Times, PrimeNews, TechNews), and three magazines (Business Today, Manager Today, Wa People), with over 30 media personnel present.
