Taiwan A2 Automation Group donated smart Manufacturing System software to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam

On the morning of December 28, 2023, Dr. Kenneth Chen, consultant of the Taiwan Eastbound Alliance - Landing America (TeaLa) and initiator of the A1 Smart Factory Alliance, , represented the conglomerate A2 Automation Group (A Taiwan/Vietnam/US Alliance) in a software donation ceremony held with Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry (IUH). During this event, a cooperation memorandum was also signed.

A2 Automation Group provided a total value of $450,000 worth of smart manufacturing system software: the A1 Smart System. This comprehensive solution integrates functions such as ERP, APS, MES, SFC, EIP, CRM, SCM, PLM, BI, AI, ESG, among others. It also includes a built-in WebLCA footprint database module designed to assist enterprises in managing and optimizing various affairs related to smart manufacturing.

This presents an excellent opportunity for IUH to enhance training and research in the field of smart manufacturing technology. IUH will utilize the donated smart system to support undergraduate, master's, doctoral courses, or research projects related to smart factories, Industry 4.0, and digital transformation. Furthermore, IUH plans to integrate this system with the Industry 4.0 laboratories currently provided by Siemens, Mitsubishi, and ABB.

Moreover, as many local enterprises in Vietnam have a limited degree of digitization, the ERP module of the A1 Smart System can also, through collaboration with IUH, provide significant assistance in the digital transformation of Vietnam's industries

The ceremony was also attended by IUH Vice President Dam Sao Mai; Mr. Bui Dinh Tien, Deputy Director of Science Management and International Cooperation; Mr. Nguyen Duc Nam, Dean of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty; Mr. Nguyen Vi Thamn Quoc, Deputy Dean of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty; Mr. Le Dinh Vu, Director of the Business Liaison and Job Introduction Center; Deputy Minister of Investment Planning Tran Thanh Hai, as well as faculty and students from the Mechanical Engineering Faculty.

Also present at the event were General Manager of Topco Vietnam; Mr. Reggie Liu, as well as Deputy General Manager of Topco Vietnam; Mr. Chris Lee, who acted as the representatives for TeaLa and Topco Scientific's Chairman J.W. Kuo; along with members of the A1 Smart Factory Alliance, including Mr. Shi Bochang, General Manager, and Nguyen Thi Phi Bieu, Manager, from Anchor Fasteners Vietnam. Anchor Fasteners Vietnam has been utilizing the A1 Smart System for over ten years and has become a major supplier of screws for automotive industries such as Honda, Yamaha, and Toyota in Vietnam."

Dr. Kenneth Chen expressed his delight in establishing such a cooperative relationship with IUH and hopes that this donation will contribute to IUH's teaching and research. He also looks forward to further exchanges and collaborations with IUH in the future to promote the development of industry, academia and R&D between Taiwan and Vietnam.
