TeaLa Advances to Taoyuan, Driving Sustainable Youth Innovation Towards the U.S. Market

The Taiwan Eastbound Alliance - Landing America (TeaLa) and its A Team Hub accelerator are enhancing the growth and international reach of sustainable green energy and smart connectivity youth innovations through corporate involvement, venture capital integration, and strategic planning guidance. In their first venture to Taoyuan, they have partnered with the Taoyuan City Government Youth Affairs Bureau to create a startup ecosystem, assisting eight youth startups in achieving industrial production, business expansion, and connecting with capital investment and overseas markets.

Director Hou Jia-Ling of the Taoyuan City Youth Bureau delivered a speech, noting that the Bureau has already erected the Andong, Hsinming and TY Commander Youth Startup Hubs to promote new developments in the fields of IoT, 3R, ICT, AI, and robotics. Additionally, they will continue to lay the groundwork for the A7 base to be used as a proof of concept for new ventures and as an international link accelerator. These efforts shall assist in creating the ecosystem and related resources needed for youth entrepreneurship. Director Hou also expressed her pleasure at TeaLa's visit to Taoyuan, which accelerates new innovation development, showcasing the energy of Taoyuan's youth innovation. The introduction of overseas, corporate partners, and venture capital resources by TeaLa, shall no doubt assist the teams in maturing.

Chi-Yuen Lee, a director of TeaLa, emphasized that under Chairman J.W. Kuo's leadership, TeaLa will delve into various counties and cities to expedite startup development and overseas expansion. This matchmaking event focuses on ESG and AIoT startups, presenting marketable and scalable innovative ventures to corporate and venture capital partners through team guidance and corporate mentorship.

Councilor Zhang Xiao-Yun has long been concerned with youth development. In addition to making strong efforts to understand each team's presentation, she also touched upon Taoyuan's efforts in establishing an innovation ecosystem, connecting the resources of the Youth Affairs Bureau and the Economic Development Bureau to provide a more complete environment for youth and startups. Councilor Peng Jun-Hao remarked that by leveraging Taoyuan's industrial advantages, more young people will be assisted in settling in Taoyuan to develop their careers. During the event, Dr. Min-yi Shih of TCA Venture in Los Angeles shared his insights on the Los Angeles startup scene and the American perspective through a video conference, providing attendees with different viewpoints, especially highlighting Los Angeles' support for Taiwanese startups in terms of funding, business, industry-academia collaboration, and regulations, which received a strong positive response from the teams present.

With the primary two aspects of focus for this event being "enterprise" and "investment" , the organizing body, TeaLa, invited professionals specifically from these sectors. These included Wesley Chiang, Chief Operating Officer of Everbrite; Vincent Lu, Chairman of Taiwan Angels Investment; Steven Yang, Founder of Canopi; Zhou Jia-De, General Manager of CSC Venture Capital Corporation; VP Venson, Founder of Headwater Capital; Anderssen Tu, CEO of NCTU Angel Club; and Robin Shen, Associate Manager of Top Taiwan Venture Capital. These professionals provided direct advice and feedback to the teams, engaging in discussions and interactions both before and after the event at their booths, aiming to establish ongoing partnerships.

This film meets Green Building Standards and has been embraced by builders, expanding its reach to Southeast Asia. Dr. Edison Chen, Chairman of ECSY Network and CEO of TeaLa, will recommend these two teams to participate in Taiwan Select L.A. to directly develop their business in the U.S. and West Asia. Dr. Steven Yang of Canopi also spoke highly of the two teams' products, which can be used to convert carbon credits and implement the nature of a circular economy.
